1991

Independence, and a bomb on St Mark’s Square. Croatia declares independence in June. On 7 October the Banski dvori on St Mark’s Square is bombed from the air with President Tuđman inside. He is unhurt; the following day Croatia formally severs its remaining ties with Yugoslavia.
